Thomas Gore has been appointed Executive Chef at London venue The Brewery.

The new Executive Chef’s culinary experience includes roles at a number of event caterers, most recently as Executive Chef at The Recipe having moved to The Recipe after holding an Executive Chef role at Dish. His previous experience also consists of Taste Catering, Digby Trout as well as a period of employment in Sydney.

Gore will bring his wealth of knowledge and gastronomic skills to the award winning catering team at the venue, while being responsible for overseeing a team of ten chefs. His role includes designing menus, and creating dishes for a range of prestigious events, from breakfast boardroom meetings of 40 people, high profile conferences for up to 1000 delegates to celebrity studded three course awards dinners for 600 guests.

Thomas Gore, Executive Chef at The Brewery, commented: "I am really looking forward to widening my skills by working at The Brewery and passing on my experience to the rest of the catering team. The venue already possesses a respected reputation for catering within the events industry, which many venues with in-house caterers fail to achieve. I aim to strengthen this reputation further, winning more awards, staying up to date with food trends, and creating a distinctive offering suitable for the wide range of high profile events The Brewery hosts."

Maria Duddin, Managing Director, The Brewery added: "Thomas is bringing to The Brewery a wealth of knowledge, creativity and experience. I am really looking forward to seeing the impact of these skills on our award winning catering, taking it to the next level of gastronomy."

Mon, 30 Jan 2012 03:02:00 -0800 Just Add Bibendum at The Brewery http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/just-add-bibendum-at-the-brewery http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/just-add-bibendum-at-the-brewery

Being called The Brewery it would not be right for us to take part in a dry January detox and as such we were delighted to host the huge annual tasting for Bibendum this year entitled Just Add Bibendum.

The event brought over 2,000 wine lovers and some of the world's best wines into The Brewery. As stated on their blog "The Bibendum Times" Bibendum use this event to showcase their portfolio in a fun and engaging environment and if you look at the pictures below you will see they did a fantastic job in achieving this.

This event further demonstrated how flexible the spaces at The Brewery are and the ability to link the rooms together makes us perfect for large scale product shows and exhibitions such as this one.

Thu, 05 Jan 2012 06:47:00 -0800 Nothing But Good Times At The Clandestine Club. http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/nothing-but-good-times-at-the-clandestine-clu http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/nothing-but-good-times-at-the-clandestine-clu

As part of our December 2011 Christmas party season we transformed The Brewery into the magnificent Clandestine Club. It was without question one of favourite Christmas seasons yet and we are pleased to say the guests who were lucky enough to experience the club for themselves felt the same way. We are so proud of The Clandestine Club that we wanted to share some of the amazing feedback we received with you.

"Great working with you and thankyou for a lovely party. The room looked wonderful and the music was great. Everyone had a really good time. Please pass on our thanks and compliments to Richard-he was fantastic at looking after us." Rabobank

"Wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you and the team and The Brewery did to make Friday night such a brilliant party. The feedback so far has been amazing! Everything went so smoothly, and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves." Shell

"Thanks for last night and a special thanks to Richard and his team too for their help with the last minute changes, it was a brilliant night - a good time was had by all. Feedback was positive, with people being particularly impressed with the food - it was very nice, Cocktail drinks on arrival went down well too.It is a very nice venue that I'm sure we will be using again in the future." Sir Robert McAlpine

"We had a wonderful evening – I have received more compliments this year than ever before regarding the food. The guinea fowl was a massive hit and I even had loads of people say how lovely the soup was. I am so pleased about that and I did ask Richard to let chef know on Saturday itself because people were coming up to me all the time praising the food and these people are not new to the Brewery. Richard is a lovely guy and was so attentive. He looked after us very well and I would like you to thank him on our behalf – he also helped out on a couple of things that we were unprepared for. Also, lots of people were very appreciative of the theming and décor. I personally loved it all. I felt that the tasting in the Porter Tun room maybe didn’t prepare me fully for the evening itself and what to expect when you entered the Clandestine Club – the accordion player was a real treat for me since my father used to play and I haven’t heard it since he passed away last year." Wed, 30 Nov 2011 04:36:00 -0800 It Must Be Love... http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/it-must-be-love http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/it-must-be-love

It has been a busy few months at The Brewery and is only going to continue as we embark on the busy Christmas party season. We've hosted some really exciting events recently and we wanted to share some of the amazing feedback that our team has recieved. It seems that our clients love us as much as we love them.

"I wanted to say a special thank you to Graham and his team – they really were excellent all evening – Graham in particular was incredibly accommodating and attentive – nothing asked for was a problem and everything was taken care of quietly, efficiently and with a minimum of fuss! We couldn’t have asked for better!

The bar staff were excellent as well and we were really well looked after by everyone involved – It has even been commented on here internally and by clients this morning about how good the Brewery staff were – so obviously we are really pleased with that!

The food was really good and the drinks upstairs and downstairs was done really well – they even went to the trouble of arranging the table for our cake which i really didn’t expect them to do – but was really appreciated – I am very cack handed so I am sure I would have made a mess of it...."

Simcorp

"I just wanted to drop you both a note to say thank you so much for all your assistance in the organisation of yesterday’s conference and dinner. The day was a huge success and we have had some excellent feedback from guests about the venue, especially the catering, so please pass my thanks onto the chef. Apparently the chicken that was served at lunch was the best chicken they've ever had at a conference!

Thanks also to Arantza and Petra who were both excellent and really helped the day run smoothly. Its really refreshing to turn up to a venue and have everything already set up for you. It certainly makes my job easier!"

London and Partners

"Thanks again for all your help. The event went incredibly soomth thanks to all the great work of you and yourteam. This was by far the best event we ran (especially given the short time notice).

The AV guys did an incredible job as well, no problems what so ever and the internet worked great! There was even a tweet saying that this was the best internet one had ever had in his life!"

Wed, 23 Nov 2011 08:58:00 -0800 We're The Venue Event Team Of The Year ! http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/were-the-venue-event-team-of-the-year http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/were-the-venue-event-team-of-the-year

On Friday 18th November, a selection of The Brewery's finest set sail for the Eventia Awards at The Hilton Park Lane in search of the coveted Eventia Event Team of The Year Award. Our entry had made it through the stringent judging process to be one of the 4 nominees on the evening.

The competition was extremely tough with the other nominees in the category being Lords, The Natural History Museum and The Saatchi Gallery. However we prevailed by being able to demonstrate the number of events our team have organised and managed over the last year and how the team has performed in making all of these events successful.

We have been very lucky in the last year to have hosted some amazing events; the three highlighted in this entry were the Football League Awards, Carsonified FOWD and Bibendum EC1 which were all amazing events but very different showing the flexibility of the team to manage a variety of events to an extremely high standard.

We are very proud to have been recognised for all the hard work that we have put into all the events hosted here in the last year and can't wait to continue this awards winning ethos.

Last week we were once again voted into the Event Magazine Top 20 Venues in the UK.

We're incredibly proud to be once again named in the illustrious list, but following an office deduction session, in the style of Sherlock Holmes, we think we are also the only venue to be named in every single list since it began.

We work hard to maintain our standards at the very peak of the event industry and it is extremely rewarding to be consistently recognised for this.

Fri, 18 Nov 2011 07:25:00 -0800 We're not ones to boast...but don't we look amazing ? http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/were-not-ones-to-boastbut-dont-we-look-amazin http://news.thebrewery.co.uk/were-not-ones-to-boastbut-dont-we-look-amazin

Exciting times today, our newly designed website, displaying the revamped brand complete with a fresh logo is live from today (as you well know as you have managed to find us - so well done you). The concept behind the restyled look is to reinforce the venue’s core brand values and positioning. The new brand aims to emphasise the quality, history and uniqueness of the venue as well as its City location. Showcasing the service and team behind the venue, rather than the space alone, is a key aim of the brand makeover.

The innovative and timeless image is the first re-brand we've embarked upon in many years. Staff at the Brewery, which first opened as a conference venue 35 years ago, have also been issued with restyled business cards in the shape of beer matts, drawing on the venue’s heritage while adding a modern, distinctive element to the brand.

Come and visit us and you will find decorative renovations have also been made to the venue to fully encompass the new brand design. The new website was designed based on feedback from The Brewery’s existing clients, asking them what they needed from a venue website. The website will enable both new and existing clients to easily find detailed information on the venue and services, including a comprehensive food and wine area and where to stay section allowing guests to book hotels in the local area and throughout London.

Maria Duddin, the Brewery's General Manager commented “Looking forward to the next year we aim to maintain our high profile in the city and are expanding to international markets and incentive travel. A lot of care and attention has gone into every element of this project, which we have been working on for over a year. The new logo features a bowler hat, which was inspired by our iconic doorman Martin who welcomes all visitors to the Brewery, creating a lasting first impression of quality that is carried throughout their experience at the venue.”
